This project's goal is to capture the almost mythological essence of MrBeast. How would you define MrBeast? Capitalist? Philanthropist? I aimed to go beyond the usual stereotypes we hear about him, and hope to explore his personality through a card deck, each card a visual metaphor of his character.
MrBeast’s online personality gave me ample resources to go through. His meteoric rise to fame, domination in Youtube space, the criticism of his philanthropy, etc. I also looked at his interviews and saw aspects of his personal views on life. This gave me a more nuanced understanding of who MrBeast is. He’s a relentless entertainer and philanthropist, who will stop at nothing to generate more views.


I realized his identity is almost entirely online, so I designed my deck with this theme in mind. Every card would become a metaphor: Monopoly as his game, Truffle as his vegetable, New York as his city, etc. In terms of visuals: LED panels, pixelization, oversaturated colors, the moshing of digital space into personal life, outrageous wealth, etc. Each of these visual elements becomes crucial to building the deck. These cards aim to capture the multifaceted YouTube star through visual metaphors: truffles, monopoly, digitalization, etc. 
The result is 12 individual cards and 1 backside complimenting the card. This project helped me fine-tune my concept and iteration skills.
